About Tesla Cargo Mats
Cargo mats protect the trunk and sub-trunk areas of your Tesla from scratches, spills, and wear. If you regularly carry groceries, sports equipment, pets, or outdoor gear, a cargo mat prevents permanent damage to the factory carpet and maintains resale value.
The Model Y is the most popular Tesla for cargo mats because of its large hatchback trunk and under-floor storage compartment. A good cargo liner covers the main floor plus the sub-trunk well, with raised edges that contain liquids. Some sets also include a piece that covers the bumper sill to prevent scratches when loading.
For Model 3, the trunk shape is different — it's a sedan-style trunk with a deeper well. Model 3 cargo mats need to fit this deeper profile and should fold or flex to accommodate the trunk hinge mechanism. Make sure you're buying a mat designed for your specific model, as Model 3 and Model Y cargo mats are not interchangeable.
