About Tesla Center Console

The center console is one of the most-touched areas in any Tesla, and the piano black finish that came standard on many models shows every fingerprint, scratch, and smudge within weeks of ownership. Center console accessories address this with protective wraps, organizer trays, and storage solutions.

Vinyl wraps are the most popular option for covering the glossy surface. They come in carbon fiber, matte black, wood grain, and other finishes. Quality wraps from 3M or Avery materials are bubble-resistant and removable without damaging the original surface. Installation takes 15-30 minutes with a heat gun or hair dryer.

Organizer inserts are the other major category. Silicone or rubber trays fit inside the cup holders, storage well, and armrest compartment to prevent small items from rattling and sliding. These are inexpensive ($10-25) and make a noticeable difference in daily usability. Note that the center console design changed significantly across Tesla generations — pre-2021, post-2021, Highland, and Juniper all have different layouts.
